'Ello, dearies!

I'm a rather nerdy history major and the most logically-minded art student I know. My dream job is to work as curator for a museum of ancient artifacts and/or manuscripts, I love the British Isles, and am a sucker for all things Arthurian. I could listen to cellos for the rest of my life and be happy, I love to read, love to write, and when I'm feeling clever, I adore nothing more than making up puns. I've been an archer for longer than Katniss, Merida, and Jeremy Renner, and I spend far, far, far too much time fangirling over How to Train Your Dragon, BBC's Merlin, Rise of the Guardians, and all the other wonderful things you will find on my blog.

For blog and country! Cheerio!

Let It Go

shortshenanigans:

This is what happens when your friend reminds you about audio editing. I ended up lowering the pitch on Let It Go from the new Frozen movie. And I gotta say, it’s really nice. Have yourself a listen and see what I mean.

And of course I had to draw a quick genderbend for this

EDIT: I’ve been getting a bunch of requests for this, so here you go folks:

Download this version of the song here

Also if you’re looking for the Karaoke/Instrumental track for this particular version, you can find it right here!

oh mY GOSH THIS IS GORGEOUS

Cantus Eatnemen Vuelie by Frode Fjellheim

Eatnmen Vuelie by Frode Fjellheim

This song is confirmed to be the opening musical number for Disney’s Frozen, coming to cinemas later this year.

A faster, beat-driven arrangement (though lower quality in recording) can be found here. Neither of these recordings are a part of the official Disney soundtrack, which will be released November 25, 2013.

Listening to Audiomachine’s ‘Beyond the Clouds’ (HtTYD 2 trailer music)

And then I think about what the actual John Powell soundtrack will sound like

So apparently the Space Jam theme and Gangnam Style match up perfectly, right down to the same BPM and key. Yes, this is mind-altering.

Oh my GOD

This is important.

There’s probably something to be said here about memetic hooks and the science of pop music and the four chord progression but NO TIME FOR SCIENCE THIS IS AMAZING

Oh my goodness

this is probably the best thing i’ve ever heard in my entire life

THIS IS MY JAM.

RIGHT HERE.

I’M MUSICALLY SET FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE.

This is the first time an audio post made me laugh so hard that I cried

Jahahakdpsjzhsksd OH MY GOD

CRYING

I accidentally started playing It’s Time in two different tabs and it basically sounded like this

Problems of a lazy, procrastinatory fangirl

I haven’t done homework all weekend. I really should have.

I have eight hours of work tomorrow, and another eight on Tuesday.

I have a chemistry test due on Wednesday, for a section that I’ve barely looked at.

I should sleep, because I have to get up at 5:30 for work.

But honestly, all I want to do right now is sit around, watch Merlin, read fanfiction, and listen to the Brave soundtrack on repeat for the rest of the night.

Sometimes I hate being a fangirl. Why can’t I just live normally.

Have you ever listened to a song that played in time with your heartbeat?

It’s a beautiful feeling.

You can relax completely and feel your head bob of its own accord -ever so slightly- to the rhythm of the song.

And if you sit very still, you can feel your pulse throughout your body keeping time with the music you’re hearing.

And for a minute, it feels like the real world and that beautiful little world inside your head finally decided to say hello to one another.

I’ve never seen the movie ‘P.S. I Love You’…

But listening to its soundtrack on Pandora kind of makes me want to melt into a sappy goo and go find a handsome Irish fellow who makes me as happy as this music does. Darn you, John Powell, HOW DO YOU DO IT?!

Because nerd fans are the best fans.

Huzzah for you, amazing laser man. Kudos!
