Fic where after the events of the series finale, Merlin realizes he’s immortal, yet ages. Very very slowly, but still, he ages. Centuries go by, until one day, when the 21st century is still young, he realizes he’s slowly getting younger.
That’s when he knows
it’s almost time.
BONUS: He stops getting younger when he looks like he’s in his late teens: right around when he first met Arthur. The day he notices this is the day he also notices a new boy has moved into town.
I MIGHT BE WRITING SOMETHING SHORT ALONG THESE LINES.
I NEED THIS RIGHT NOW
DESPERATE NEEEEEDD
Who said that this was okay?

I hope my tears were a nice stocking stuffer

…And the biggest kicker?
that was it.
no more Merlin

WHYYYYYHOOOWWWW

…….Okay I have to leave now before I start crying to the point of insanity

I JUST FINISHED WATCHING MERLIN
HOW DO I CONTAIN MY SCREAMS
MY CRIES
HOW

I JUST
“I CAN’T” DOESN’T EVEN BEGIN TO COVER IT.
I wanted to pretend I was ready, that I had could do this… I CAN’T DO THIS. I THOUGHT I WAS SURE THAT THERE WOULD BE A HAPPY ENDING, I’M NOT SURE ANYMORE.
The parts that really got me:
A few comments:
-Alright, I love the Arthur/Gwen ship for itself, but I’m not overly… fanatical about it, you know? But I was really wanting to hug them so hard when Arthur swung Gwen up in his arms, because you know he was thinking that it was probably the last chance he’d get to do so. And I just… *cries*
-I was kind of disappointed with the Balinor scene. It was obvious that the actors didn’t actually act together - well, of course John was on a greenscreen, so they couldn’t, but… it was glaringly obvious. Also, it was unbearably and ridiculously cheesy about the entire thing. “believe what your heart knows to be true”? REALLY, WRITERS? I mean, I know this show has been textbook “cheesy” since day one, but can we at least make it less so for the finale, for goodness’ sake? There were a few tiny bits about the scene that made me go ‘awww’, but overall I was disappointed.
-I’m really pretty ticked that they’re pulling the Dragoon card out again. CAN WE JUST NOT, PLEASE? THIS IS THE FINALE. DO IT RIGHT WITH MERLIN AS HIMSELF, OR DON’T DO IT AT ALL.
OH.
And one more thing.
The preview.
That line. The line. You know which one.
“I’m a sorcerer. I have magic.”

Overall, the finale is halfway done, we’re less than two days from bidding Merlin goodbye for good, and I’m descending into a mental-emotional breakdown just in time for Christmas. Well ain’t that dandy.

To all my non Merlin followers and everyone I will see before, during, and after Christmas:
